This amazing masonry fireplace and wood-fired pizza oven was featured on This Old House in 2021. As seen in the show, more homeowners are spending time entertaining at home in their own backyards. The Round Grove outdoor fireplace with the pizza oven above creates a beautiful focal point in your outdoor kitchen that can be enjoyed year-round.
The Kiva model DIY kit is Round Grove's original fireplace combo unit. It has a wood burning fireplace and brick oven built together with two separate flue systems that combine into a single chimney vent. The size of the outdoor oven is the same for the Mezzo and the Largo but the fireplace is wider in the Largo unit.
Rather than spending months building a wood-fired brick pizza oven using a pizza oven kit, you can have a completely manufactured ready-to-finish outdoor pizza oven fireplace delivered to your house. You or a contractor can easily install and finish this diy outdoor fireplace in a couple of days. Be cooking in days rather than months!
These outdoor fireplace kits with wood-burning ovens are individually built in America with American resources and American labor. Made from 18-gauge galvanized steel U-channel framing, with glass-fiber reinforced sheathing and factory-applied scratch-coat on all sides, they are a durable component for your outdoor living space.
This backyard fireplace system not only features heavy-duty steel construction, but is resistant to corrosion, are non-combustible, and is built with inert materials so there is no rotting, swelling, or rusting. It can easily be finished with your choice of natural stone, stone veneer, or outdoor brick veneer to match your home.
The fireplace can be modified to permit a gas log insert (EXTRA CHARGE TO MODIFY), however, the brick oven is wood-fired only.

Wow... what a great experience was to purchase and work with Patio & Pizza! Morgan, my salesperson was PHENOMENAL from the very first interaction until the final completion of my project. Her attention and superb customer service ethic made a BIG difference when we had a bit of a mishap with the delivery. BUT nothing big. My beloved Kiva Mezzo (Sophia) arrived way earlier than expected so it modified construction plans lol!!! But she came out spectacular. The add-ons and other items purchased were phenomenal. Excellent quality, delivery was super-fast and the price of everything was more than affordable. Thanks a lot, Patio and Pizza, Round Grove and Morgan! The perfect trifecta! Also, the pizza oven has a mind of its own! You can go as high as 1k degrees, but 798 degrees F does the job superbly and the pizzas will come out toasty-delicious in 2 mins!!! Yep 2 mins!!!! Now, be careful with the heath blast lol. Once that door is opened back off a bit lol or you'll feel the heat blast in your face but what an amazing cooking feeling hahaha. The ceramic bricks are phenomenal, and they can retain heat once you reach optimal baking heat. Use cooking wood, like Hickory or Apple wood. Wow... amazing flavors and aromas. And of course, practice, practice, practice. You can cook almost anything in the oven. Get all the accessories and you'll have more fun! Read the installation manual and cooking book for ideas and proper care and maintenance of this toy. The firebox is a blast too. Plenty of space to keep an entire family happy, warm and having fun. Top heat achieved so far, 985 degrees F and that was nice, nice, nice!!! Overall, many memories, family and friends enjoying my baby. And plenty of wine too lol! Overall, super satisfied with Morgan, Patio and Pizza and Round Grove. Thanks a million team!

Only issue was that the lead time on the website was three weeks shorter than actuality. Would probably be needed to list it as “call for lead times”. The manufacturer for the product was backed up. If I had known that, I could have scheduled my work better and not have a partially completed job for three weeks. They were, however, very responsive to emails after I reached out.

Is it possible to put this to my deck which is wooden?
Barebones (not stoned or bricked yet) these units start at 1900 lbs and can go all the way up to 5000lbs depending on the customizations and options you choose. You will add even more weight once you stone or brick the unit. We do not recommend putting these on decks or any suspended/lifted porch. Every site has different soil conditions. As a general rule of thumb, Round Grove Products recommends setting their fireplaces and brick ovens on a minimum 6” slab. Some conditions may require sonotube piers on the four corners; other conditions may require a deeper footer depending on frost line or the weight of finish overlay.
Does it come with finished brick work? And what is Mezzo vs Largo?
The units will arrive with a factory-applied scratch-coat on all sides so you can finish it with your preferred materials (ie, brick, tile, stone). Mezzo and Largo are sizes of the unit. "Mezzo" = Medium "Largo" = Large. Dimensions of both can be found in the listing.
Does the fireplace box provide the heat for the pizza oven?
No. The firebox is the fireplace and the two (the firebox and pizza oven) do not "interact" with one another . The heat for your pizza oven is going to come from the fire you would build inside of your oven.
Can you just use the bottom to have a fire and not cook in the pizza oven
Yes! You can definitely use the bottom fireplace without using the oven.
Does this need to go on a foundation or can I put it on the ground?
Every site has different soil conditions. As a general rule of thumb, Round Grove Products recommends setting their fireplaces and brick ovens on a minimum 6” slab. Some conditions may require sonotube piers on the four corners; other conditions may require a deeper footer depending on frost line or the weight of finish overlay.
Can I mount a tv above the pizza oven?
Mounting a TV will require you to drill a hole into this unit and that will void the warranty. It's also possible that the TV may melt due to the high temperature this unit holds so we don't recommend it.
Can I put this at the end of a covered patio and attach a screen enclosure to it, and will I have to have the chimney go above the peak of the gable end?
Can we put this in a four season room ?
These units can not be installed in any enclosed area.
Can i use real field stone
Absolutely! Fieldstone is ideal for a fireplace, retaining wall or anywhere you don't need a smooth, flat surface.
If the fireplace and pizza oven do not interact with each other, how does the smoke from the fireplace flow out?
Just like the listing says, there are two independent combustion chambers vented through a smoke chamber and into a clay flue liner. Smoke from the fireplace exhausts from the same chimney as the pizza oven, however they never interact with one another as they have independent chambers inside for each route.
How do you attach natural stone to the scratch-coat? Do you use typical straps as used in normal brick veneer applications?
