Does it draw well? I have heard that some items of this type more smoke comes out the front of the Fire box instead of up the chimney?
This is one of our most popular fireplaces and the feedback we've received for our customers is that they are very happy with it. No indication at all that it does not draw well. Thanks for asking!
is there an option to add a pizza oven on this the Colonial Fireplace Kit?
There isn't a pizza oven addition available for the fireplace kit but we carry a pizza oven and fireplace kit combo from another brand. Feel free to check out Round Grove Products DIY Kits
I would like to put this on our elevated deck. What is the Weight of the fireplace and do you think it would be supported on the deck?
The weight of the Colonial Fireplace is approximately 3,700 lbs while the woodbox would add an additional 1,600lbs and the hearth another 295 lbs. So, it will really depend on the size and support for your deck as to whether it can carry the weight of the Colonial Fireplace. Feel free to reach out to us via email at customerservice@patioandpizza.com or give us a call with any other questions!
I am planning a fireplace under a covered patio. Can the chimney be outfitted to receive solid stainless steel round pipe? Can you add additional layer for more height? What are inside dimensions of the fire chamber? I like it but "compact" isn't what I am in the market for.
Thank you for the question. There are a couple of larger fireplace options when using the Necessories kits. The Grand Fireplace is 60" W x 36" D x 102" H and has a firebox that is 33" W x 16" D x 19" H. The chimney is 4' stainless steel. You can also add the woodboxes on both sides to give you almost 12' across.
You can find the different fireplace styles and sizes here: https://www.patioandpizza.com/collections/fireplaces Also, please give us a call at 888-671-2342 or send a quick email to customerservice@patioandpizza.com with the height of your covered patio and any other questions so we can work with you to determine how you can use these kits to create the fireplace you want!
We have a stamped surface on our patio so it is not perfectly flat. Thoughts?
Rockwood recommends a base constructed of either a poured slab or compacted gravel. If your surface isn’t flat, we’d recommend building a base that would be flat and level. Depending on your surface, you may be able to put a thin layer of gravel that would level out your surface.
